In the console of my car, there is an oatmeal cream pie. I don’t know why it’s still there. I bought it one day when I was
in one of those, “I want something really bad for me” moods. Well, I didn’t eat it that day, and I haven’t gotten rid of it.
I had actually forgotten about it. You know how that happens…..and then one day you find a sweet hidden treat, and it’s
better than finding a $10 bill? Ok, maybe it’s just me. Anyway, I had forgotten about it, and then today, I found it.
I will say that it’s one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, not eating it.
Today has been a really trying day. It’s 3:45, and I haven’t cheated, but I really, really wanted to.
I made Po some chicken nuggets, and I swear they were calling my name.
It’s just become second nature to grab her uneaten nuggets or grilled
cheese and pop them in my mouth, and I’m having to rethink everything I do.
It’s kind of sad, but it seems like everything we do is centered around eating.
It’s just what we do…..I guess I really need to get a new hobby
It’s almost 4:00, and I can feel my craving finally calming down, whew, that was close.
Here are the things that helped me get through it:
Hot Yerba Mate with Honey
Click here to check it out
I’m not sure if it’s tea or what, but it has such a rich flavor.
It does have a little caffeine in it, but I’m not drinking that much of it, so I’m not concerned.
Lemon Water from Sonic
If you saw my car at Sonic today, no worries, I was just getting lemon water.
I thought, “Maybe I’m not addicted to Diet Coke, maybe I’m addicted
to the Styrofoam cup with the great ice.”
It did help a little
If you don’t know what a Humphrey Yogart is, then this doesn’t make any sense to you.
There is a great restaurant/yogurt shop here in Ruston called Counter Culture, and they serve the most
amazing sweet treat called the Humphrey Yogart. It’s got this tart frozen yogurt(similar to pink berry if you know what that is)
Strawberries, Bananas, Grapes, Granola & Honey. Well, on my cleanse, I can’t have this, but I can have the next best thing here at home.
I use plain yogurt from the dairy section at the grocery store, and then add all my own fruit, honey, and sunflower seeds.
It is the perfect sweet treat to curb any craving!
